Scientific and technical topics
The conference will focus on obtaining an overview of projects under investigation, and experimental methods used in the field of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. Its aim is to organize a network of young research workers who are interested in experimental, and also theoretical, work in the field of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. The conference should contribute to creating the closer contacts and sharing experience in application of various experimental methods, preparation and implementation of experiments, processing of results and numerical simulations of experiments.
The main topics of the conference are:
- Experimental methods used in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics
- Preparation and implementation of experiments
- Application of numerical simulation for preparation of experiments, comparison of the results obtained by numerical or analytical method with experiment
- Processing the results
- Experiments in the field of compressible and uncompressible fluid flow, stability of flow, heat and mass transfer, cavitation etc.
- Experiments and measuring carried out on power and regulating equipment.
- Cryogenic fluid dynamics.
Acceptance and publishing of papers
Papers (in English) which have been accepted will be published in the proceedings and on CD ROM.
For the purpose of publishing a paper in the proceedings, it is necessary to upload it at efm.kez.tul.cz before November 14th 2021. The paper must be in the format corresponding to the sample published on the web pages of the conference (*.doc or *.docx format). Your paper should not exceed the size of 20 MB.
Early payment of the registration fee for authors of papers is before October 31st 2021. The registration fee may be paid also later after this date (publishing participants until November 14th 2021). If the registration fee is not paid, the paper will not be published. It is essential that receipt or confirmation of the bank transfer of registration fee to the conference bank account to be delivered to the organizers of the conference immediately after the transaction (please, send a letter or an email).
Non publishing participants may pay the registration fee at beginning of the conference.
The official language of the conference is English.
Keynote lectures
Vladimir Kulish
Dr. Vladimir Kulish is an established academician with interests, which span from applied mathematics and physics, to comparative linguistics, philosophy, and creative writing. Dr. Kulish has a Dr.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics from the Russian Academy of Sciences, a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Methodist University (Dallas, Texas), and M.A. in German Language and Literature from the Goethe Institute (Luxembourg).
From September 1999 until May 2017, Dr. Kulish was associated with the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) as a tenured faculty member.
An ardent academician and researcher, Dr. Kulish's primary research interest is mathematical modelling of energy and information transport processes, including transport phenomena in biological systems. Dr. Kulish has been instrumental in developing a mathematical method (nowadays known as the method of Kulish). The method allows solving complex problems in the areas of energy transport processes (e.g., ultra-fast heat transfer, start-up flows in nano-channels) and signal processing (e.g., biological signals such as electroencephalograms, electrocardiograms, and forecasting the behaviour of multi-fractal time series, such as biological signals and fluctuations of asset values in markets).
A celebrated author of nine books and more than one hundred publications in professional journals and peer-reviewed conference proceedings, Dr. Kulish is a holder of several prestigious awards for his scientific achievements.
From June 2017 until June 2018, Dr. Kulish was Distinguished Professor, Dean of Engineering & First Founding Vice-Chancellor of Avantika University and, at the same time, Advisor for Research, Academics and International Relations (RAIR) for the MIT Group of Institutions (Pune, India). From July 2018, Dr. Kulish is a Visiting Professor at the Israel Institute of Technology (Technion). From December 15, 2018, he holds an appointment with the Department of Fluid Mechanics & Thermodynamics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague.
